How Can We Stop Loving You. You were Very Dear to Us

I met Mr. Kwame de Youngster at Kotobabi middle school in 1966. On the day of reopening work on the school block was still in progress and no furniture or equipment was available for us to use. The headteacher flared up! Then Mr. de Youngster cooled her down. ‘Madam” he said, “we shall help you to make the school a master piece” and this was exactly what we did. We were four teachers in the school, two males and two females. We worked very hard.
I called Mr. de Youngster Kwame and he also called me by my birth name Kwaku. We sometimes had common goals and had discussions on issues. The, results very fruitful.
In 1973(January) I quit the teaching service but Kwame remained and established De Youngster’s International School with many branches. Student of De Youngster’s are noted for brilliant performances. Kwame had admirable qualities which was of great importance.
He had a great affection for God the Almighty “who am I, if God is not on my side?’’ “I am nothing at all”. This was his saying. Therefore, he loved quoting Psalm 34 in praise of Jehovah.
Kwame was also a lover of humanity. He invariably took delight in children’s education and was well known at the places of worship. He was a stanch catholic.
He maintained his integrity and as a lover of truth he was clearly very uncompromising in shady deals. Humility and respect for people put at enviable places. He never gave up. This virtue won him success and victory in all his endeavors.
Next to his noble virtues and acceptance of many responsibilities was very calm and cheerful. He was indeed a father to many people, families and the deprived. That is why Africa and Ghana have lost a great legend of our time. I lost a precious pearl too. Replacement is uneasy to come by.
Nevertheless, we pray to our maker to give us peace, courage and harmony.
And to you Kwame my brother and friend REST IN PERFECT PEACE IN GOD’S KINGDOM. You are still a loving child of Jehovah. You are dearer to God.
Hede nyuie! Amen.
